Turkey's Limak Holding has reached an agreement with Germany's Siemens to service and maintain equipment in a natural gas combined cycle plant located in Hamitabat, Kırklareli. The agreement, which will last for 13 years, was signed on Tuesday by Limak Holding Chairman Nihat Özdemir and Siemens Turkey CEO Hüseyin Geliş. Özdemir said: "We give much importance to the restoration investment, which is valued at nearly 520 million euros, in Hamitabat. Thanks to this investment, the productivity level, which was around 38 percent when we took over the facility from the government, will exceed 60 percent." He also stated that Hamitabat would be one of the productive plants with new facilities in 2017. The plant will consume less natural gas due to Siemens' gas and steam technology, which has the high productivity level desired for the project. Therefore, it will make a greater contribution to Turkey's economy. The plant in Hamitabat had been transferred to Limak Holding by the end of the privatization process that was completed in May 2013.
