Anexciting excavation workshop is waiting for primary students above 9 years old. Archeology Summer Workshops are held in the Neolithic proto-city settlement Çatalhöyük, overlooking the Konya plain in central Anatolia. Students can participate ın a six-day program from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. free of charge. Special events are also available for families. Çatalhöyük is recognized as one of the most important archeological settlements, which was included in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites two years ago.
The program intends to encourage children to preserve cultural heritage. A total of 5,000 students have attended so far. While expert archeologists give information sessions to all participants, children enjoy interacting with centuries-old artifacts.
