‘The 100-Year Journey of Turkish Cinema through Images’

"The 100-Year Journey of Turkish Cinema through Images" exhibition by Ertan Toy features 20 film posters that have been reinterpreted by the artist with a minimalist touch. The exhibition, which will run until Jan. 3, 2015, at TAK (Kadıköy Design Workshop), with contributions from the Kadıköy Municipality, intends to take visitors on a journey through 100 years of Turkish Cinema via posters. The images featured in the project are composed of 20 Turkish film posters belonging to different time periods that left a mark in people's memories. The artist, who re-interprets 20 posters of unforgettable Turkish films from a modern perspective, respects the films and their successful directors who made an impact on Turkish Cinema during its 100 years. Toy invites all cinema buffs to join him on an entertaining journey through time with posters for "Eşkiya" (The Bandit), "Propaganda," "Tourist Ömer," "Neşeli Günler" (Cheerful Days), "Hababam Sınıfı" (The Chaos Class) and "Arabesk" (Arabesque).
