Depo will host Irish photographer Helen Sheehan's second solo exhibition entitled "Armenian Family Stories and Lost Landscapes." The artist previously exhibited her photographs and installations at St. Giragos Church in Diyarbakır, with contributions of the Diyarbakır Art Center. Sheehan's interest in Armenia and the Armenian diaspora arose when she began working as a teacher at the Mechitarist Seminary School on the Armenian-populated island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni in Venice in the 1990s. Her interest was triggered once again in 2009 when she encountered the descendants of Armenian exiles, and decided to narrate their stories. The artist combined her interest in photojournalism and art while she was attending the Art College of the Republic of Ireland in the 1980s. She documented the break up of three multi-ethnic towns in Sarajevo, Vukovar and Mostar in the 1990s and held exhibitions in Slovenia, Dublin and London.
