Markus Stockhausen is one of the rare trumpeters who excels in both classical music and modern jazz. For the last 25 years, he has worked with his father, Karlheinz Stockhausen, who composed many songs for him. He is influenced by free jazz, world music, electronica and ambient music. His incredible control over his instrument brings him huge advantages on stage. He has worked with pianist Rainer Brüninghaus and cellists Gary Peacock and Arild Andersen, along with guitarist Ralph Towner and percussion player Patrice Heral. He has also taken part in numerous projects with clarinetist Tara Bouman, Hungarian guitar virtuoso Ferenc Snetberger, jazz pianist Florian Weber and his brother, Simon Stockhausen, while he brought a new perspective to music through his trio with pianist Angelo Comisso and drummer Christian Thome. Since 2001, he has managed to make a name for himself as a soloist and a composer. The artist has released nearly 60 albums.
