As part of the Turkey-Albania Cross-Cultural Art Dialogue Project, two separate exhibitions, "From Constantinople to Istanbul: Bosporus Photographs From the Mid-19th to the 20th Century" and "I Have a Story," opened in Tirana, the capital city of Albania. The "From Constantinople to Istanbul" exhibition, which is compiled of photographs from the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation's photography collection under the curatorship of Sinan Genim, features the works of Istanbul-based photography experts from the mid-19th century until the 20th century. The exhibition reveals striking buildings, daily life and interesting individuals from Istanbul during that period."I Have a Story," which is part of the "Young Art from Turkey" exhibition, includes various works belonging to different fields of the arts. The exhibition interprets authentic stories stored in the collective memories of different cultures, while comparing the different lifestyles of the 19th and 21st centuries through lost and regained values. Çağdaş Erçelik, one of the artists featured in the exhibition told that the exhibition is a pleasant step to strengthen the bond between Istanbul and Balkan cultures. Held in collaboration with the Tirana Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, the Suna and İnan Kıraç Museum and the Istanbul Cross-Cultural Art Dialogues Association, the two exhibitions will be open until Feb. 3.
