William Shakespeare's immortal love story "Romeo and Juliet" will come to Istanbul with a glorious production by Italian Producer David Zard on Feb. 21. Shakespeare's plays have been performed numerous times as theater productions, ballets, films, musicals and operas and will be at the Zorlu Performance Arts Center until March 1 with a 3-D digital stage design and original language under the sponsorship of IEG Live, Luce Stage Art and Toshiba. Regarded as "a hymn devoted to beauty and discrepancy" for its music, lyrics and actors by critics, this interpretation, "Romeo e Giulietta," both respects and betrays the original story. Directed by Giuliano Peparini, the play's music was composed by Gérard Presgurvic and the lyrics were written byVincenzo Incenzo. The show, which was attended by over 400,000 people within eight months in Italy, is performed by 45 artists. The performance promises an unforgettable experience to Istanbulite aficionados of the theater with is flawless choreography and directorship. Forty technicians, a communication team of six people and a production team of 15 people work backstage to prepare the performance. The show will come to Istanbul with 13 trucks filled with costumes and technical equipment. Tickets can be purchased on www.biletix.com and Biletix's ticket offices.
