Contemporary art space ALAN Istanbul's latest show "New Photography" is made up of Turkish and internationally reputable artists. Curated by Efe Korkut Kurt and Zeynep Özkanca, the photography selection offers a fictional atmosphere in which the bright screen of the digital age transforms into an installation prioritizing visual aesthetics. Set in different places, each photograph reflects its own story. It can be a child's face, a group of girls from Turkey's southeastern region, distorted traces found on touchscreens or a scene from a café or reed field. The first stage of the New Photography project at ALAN Istanbul aims to establish a dialogue between artists and their works through photography. Among the exhibition artists mentioned are Eylül Aslan, Zeynep Beler, Asger Carlsen, David Chancellor, Alejandro Chaskielberg, Yusuf Darıyerli, Gert Jochems, Catherine Larre, Camille McOuat, Evzen Sobek and Arslan Sükan. Having kicked off on May 12, the exhibition will run through to the end of June.
