Montreal Film Fest to host Turkish and Iranian cinema

Written and directed by Mehmet Eryılmaz, the Turkish production "Misafir" (Guest) will make its world premiere at the Montreal Film Festival, which will run from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7. According to the statement, the second feature-length film by Eryılmaz will be screened as part of the festival's "World Competition" section. The film, which focuses on the relationship of a mother and her daughter, also discusses sexual assault cases in the family as a sub-plot. Zümrüt Erkin, Tamer Levent, Ayten Uncuoğlu, Hale Akınlı, Ersin Umut Güler and child actress Melek Çınar star in the film. The festivalwill open with the screening of Majid Majidi's film "Muhammad."
