A meeting point for creative disciplines including advertising, marketing, media, cinema and visual design, the Crystal Apple Festival will take place from Oct. 14-16 at Uniq Istanbul. Initiated by the Advertising Association in 1989 under the name of the Crystal Apple Competition, the festival has become the most important organization representing Turkey's advertising and creative industry. For the last three years, the organization has become a real festival with many guest speakers, interactive sessions and workshops. This year's theme is "fame."
Gathering over 120 thinkers and professionals from Turkey and around the world, the festival will introduce networking events, two award ceremonies, sessions and a creative industry fair. Similar to the previous year, the closing party will be held at the Volkswagen Arena. Among the guests who will attend the festival and share their experiences and views are David Shing, who is described as a "digital prophet," Sagmeister & Walsh's partner Jessica Walsh, Leo Burnett Worldwide Chairman and CEO Tom Bernardin, TBWAWorldwide CEO and Chairman Troy Ruhanen, Google EMEA Region Brand Manager David Benson, Twitter EMEA Region Deputy President Stephen Mclntyre, J. Walter Thompson's Worldwide Chief Creative Officer Matt Eastwood, R/GA President and Creative Director James Temple, Trendwatching Founder Henry Mason, Oracle Product Development Deputy President Reggie Bradford, Rose Design Creative Manager Simon Elliott, Universal Music Business Development Global President Olivier Robert-Murphy and Fjord/Accenture Regional Design Manager Thomas Muller.
Candidates will compete in 11 different categories including press, digital, media, regional competition, environmental sustainability special award, integrated campaigns, radio, open-air projects, direct marketing and Movie-TV-Cinema. Festival winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on both Oct. 15 and Oct. 16.
