The 25th Akbank Jazz Festival will kick off with several categories along with surprises this year.
Among them is New York DJ Andy Butler's musical project Hercules & Love Affair created a new style by blending electronic dance music with extraordinary vocals. Their debut record "Blind," together with Antony Hegarthy's impressive vocals, has instilled the group with a cult following.
Hercules & Love Affair will meet their fans with their large musical repertoire ranging from disco to house and acid synth pop on Oct. 20 at Babylon Bomonti.
Meanwhile, Squarepusher, one of the most important representatives of electronic music. The unusual project by famous bass guitarist Tom Jenkinson blends fusion jazz with drum 'n' bass in his compositions, and will change the perception of electronic music by even the most conservative jazz lovers. Squarepusher will perform on Oct. 29 at Babylon Bomonti. On tour for his latest album "Damogen Furies," Squarepusher will offer the music of now but also the music of tomorrow.
Additionally, considered one of the pioneers of indie music, the Scottish group Belle & Sebastian will perform on Oct. 30 with their emotion-filled songs and great scene performance at Volkswagen Arena.
