Happening in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, the Mural-ist Festival gathers street artists from around the world for a colorful event with the contributions of the Foundation for the Protection and Promotion of the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ÇEKÜL). Street artists show their artistic talents on the façades of buildings, while using big walls as a canvas in the district's different neighborhoods. In future editions, the festival will extend to the entire Kadıköy district. Currently, Spanish street artist Aryz from Barcelona is working in Caferağa Neighborhood. From Sept. 23-28, Esk Reyn, Wicx and Nuka will add color to the Kadıköy streets, too. Some of the best examples of mural art, an increasingly popular art form worldwide, are available for all in Kadıköy.
