Antalya is getting ready to host a huge chess festival. Organized by the Turkish Chess Federation, the Turkish Little Championship, Turkish Stars Championship and Turkey Veterans Championship will bring a total of 2,278 sportsmen from 81 provinces of Turkey between Jan. 24 and Jan. 29. The championships, which will bring people from seven to 70 together under the same roof, are expected to welcome over 5,000 people including the sportsmen and their families. The huge organization will bring young and veteran chess players from Şırnak to Adıyaman, Düzce, Mardin, Istanbul, Mersin, Gaziantep, Artvin, Hatay, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Tekirdağ, Tunceli, Siirt and Batman together. The championships accept applications from chess players born between 1938 and 2009. The events will kick off after the official opening ceremony on Jan. 24 and end on Jan. 29, following nine stages of the chess battle.
