Founded by baroque music legend and clavichordist Andrea Marcon in 1997, Venice Baroque Orchestra promises an outstanding performance to music lovers in Istanbul. The orchestra will perform the most distinguished compositions of Baroque period under the baton of Marcon on March 31 at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. The Italian maestro Marcon is considered among one of the most outstanding contemporary artists who is focused of early period compositions. He won the first prize at Paul Hofhaimer International Org Competition in 1986, and claimed the winning title at Clavichord Competition in Bologna, Italy in 1991. After founding Venice Baroque Orchestra in 1997, he focused his career on baroque music. The artist who recorded more than 50 studio albums is a four time Deutschen Schallplatten Critic Award and was granted Diapason d'Or and Echo Music Award as maestro. Venice Baroque Orchestra has recorded a total of 11 studio albums with world-renowned soloists such as Giuliano Carmignola, Philippe Jarorussky, Magolena Kozena and Patricia Petibon, so far. During their concert at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, the orchestra will perform the compositions belonging 16th and 17th centuries.
