In parallel with the "Giorgio de Chirico: The Enigma of the World" exhibition, Pera Film, an initiative of Pera Museum, will organize a cinema program titled "Not in This Life! Metaphysics and Cinema," exploring the relationship between the cinematic and the philosophical, the fundamental nature of being and the world that encompasses it. As a part of the program, actor Ryan Goslings's directorial debut, "Lost River," will be screened on April 2. "Lost River" is a surreal tale about the housing market crash in the United States. A single mother who is about to lose her house starts working at a mysterious night club in order to make ends meet. Her teenage son is trying to help his mother by taking care of his baby brother, but becomes the target of a gang leader. Premiered at last year's A Certain Look section of the Cannes Film Festival, the movie is full of references to various cult directors such as Dario Argento, Mario Bava, David Lynch and Harmony Korine.
