Young Stars of Ballet will perform on May 22 at Leyla Gencer Opera and Arts Center in Istanbul. Composed and choreographed by French choreographer Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus, the ballet of "La Bayadere" will be performed in two different acts by professional ballets companies from the state conservatory as well as a ballet group composed of middle school, high school and university students. Founded as the Istanbul Municipality Conservatory in 1944, the institution later began to operate within Istanbul University and has been known as the Istanbul University State Conservatory since 1986. Istanbul University State Conservatory's Department of Ballet, which operates on the Asian side of Istanbul, trains ballets and ballerinas for all art institutions around Turkey, being well-aware of the fact that art and artist have a major role in the development of a nation. The institution has made a name for itself with the artists it trained and the events it holds.
