The internationally renowned Turkish dance company "Anadolu Ateşi" (Fire of Anatolia) is set to perform on Dec. 18 at the Moi Stage located inside Mall of Istanbul. Synthesizing Turkish folk dance figures with ballet, modern dance and music from different regions of Anatolia, "Fire of Anatolia" is a unique project reflecting Anatolia's ancient myths, folklore and cultural history. Founded by Mustafa Erdoğan back in 1999, the project, originally called "Sultans of the Dance," involves 90 dancers.
The group made its first world tour in 2002. Fire of Anatolia now has 100 professional dancers whom are given exclusive training on each project, such as "Gypsy Dance," "Semah," "Caucasian Dance" and "Troy." The dance company has reached more than 40 million people in 4,000 live performances in 97 countries including Qatar, Bulgaria, Japan, Egypt, the U.S., Russia and Portugal.
