Anewal was founded by Alhousseini Anivolla, the guitarist and vocalist from Nigerian Desert Blues band Etran Finatawa. In 2014, Anewal took the sandy winds of the Sahara desert around the globe through the magic of music. Born in the Sahara and adopted the cultural traditions of the Tuaregs, Anivolla sets off for a journey to the junction point of Afro-Blues and the music of his homeland. Anivolla is an emotional and outstanding guitarist. His technique reflects the "ichumar" style, which was created by the Tuaregs, who were living in exile in Libya in the 1970s. With his new band Anewal, Anivolla continues to work as an ambassador for cultural variety around the world.
