Camerata Trajectina offers examples of 17th century Europe

The Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival returns to Istanbul Feb. 6-28 with unique works from the polyphonic music universe.The atmosphere created by Camerata Trajectina, one of the oldest, most humorous, productive and enjoyable early music groups of the old Continent, fill their concerts with exquisite clues about past few centuries.

Founded in Utrecht in 1974, Camerata Trajectina offers examples of theater music of 17th century Europe at the Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival. Our journey in the concert starts in Britain, goes to the Netherlands, pays a visit to France after a small break, later returns to the beginning and ends in the Netherlands.

Exquisite examples of Masque, a popular type of entertainment in Britain during the 16th and 17th centuries, selections from Dutch theater and opera composers Schenk and Starter's "Lijsje Flepkous," and arias and dances from Sun King Louis XIV's terrific and genius composer Jean Baptiste Lully's "Roland Opera" offer a wealth of enthusiasm for all music lovers and old-fashioned theatrical music buffs in the warm atmosphere of the Grand Pera Theater Hall.
