The Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul is getting ready to host Azerbaijani piano virtuoso İslam Manafov on March 25. Manafov began his music education in Baku at the age of 7 and continued his education in high school. Following his high school graduation, he qualified to enter Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and got the chance to study with Professor Aleksey Nasedkin and Professor Margarita Fiodorova.
In 1979, he won the first title in the Azerbaijan Pianists Competition. After this success, he performed in prominent concerts hall in St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, Yerevan, as well as in Belarus, Bulgaria and Turkey. Currently, Manafov is working as an academician at Baku Music Academy and Yeditepe University in Istanbul. He also continues to give piano recitals and conduct orchestras.
