The Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (İKÜSAG) displays the work of Füreya Koral, Turkey's first female ceramic artist, in its new exhibition. Koral, who played a crucial role in introducing and popularizing contemporary ceramics in Turkey, will show around 20 works in the exhibition titled "Füreya Koral's Living Ceramics."
Focusing on both the abstract and concrete, and concentrating on the Anatolian culture, Koral includes a variety of works including ceramic panels, three-dimensional works, vases and plates. Koral suggests that art should be in the lives of everyone, not only artists, and uses ceramics not only to accessorize, but also as a means of social expression. The exhibition will be open to visitors until May 24.
When: Until May 24
Where: Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery
