In honor of the U.N. International Migrants' Day, a special event will be held at the Jockey Club of Turkey's Veliefendi Race Course on June 20 at 10:30 a.m. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in refugee-related fields will participate in the celebration, which will be held under the auspices of the Maya Foundation under the tutelage of the U.N.'s High Commissioner for Refugees. Young migrants, along with their families, will attend the celebration, which will be held for the second time under the main sponsorship of the Jockey Club of Turkey. An estimated 1,000 refugee families are expected to attend.
In the scope of the event, which begins on June 20 at 11 a.m., various workshops and children's activities will be held in addition to a performance by Zeytin. Major associations will attend the event, namely the NHCR, the Maya Foundation, the Human Resources Development Foundation, the Turkish Red Crescent, the International Blue Crescent, the Foundation for Positive Behavioral Development (ODGEDER), AAR Japan, the Migrant Women's Solidarity Association, the Support to Life Humanitarian Agency (Hayata Destek), the Blue Pen (Mavi Kalem) Association for Social Solidarity and Support, the Goethe Institute, the UNIQ Gallery, Syrian Artists, the Her Yerde Sanat Association and the Yuva Association, which will also represent children at the event.
