Turkish lira hits new record low against US dollar at 3.06

The Turkish lira fell to a record low against the dollar in early morning trading on Thursday.
The lira briefly dropped to 3.0610, but then climbed back to levels around 3.045 after 8 a.m. local time.
Most emerging market currencies are under pressure in anticipation of a possible interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve at its next monetary policy meeting on September 16.
