Sunday's Oscar menu to feature Turkish chef for first time

Hollywood is ready for its closing for Sunday's Oscar awards. This year, a Turkish chef, Yiğit Mirzaoğlu, is among the creative team for the official Oscars after-party — the first Turk ever to have the honor.



The Turkish chef will be preparing Eastern flavors and halal food for the guests. Mirzaoğlu said he is proud and happy to be a part of the team. The talented chef has a special interest in Mediterranean cuisine.

Wolfgang Puck and the creative team behind the annual Governor's Ball unveiled their lavish plans and creations for the party. Puck has been creating Oscar night menus for over two decades. He said he never tires of preparing the annual feast. An impressive 300 chefs will be working for the after-party.

Some of the delicacies that Hollywood A-listers will be filling their bellies with on Feb. 26 include: Spicy tuna tartare, mini burgers, baked macaroni and cheese, sweet pea falafel with hummus, homemade pretzels and Moroccan-spiced Wagyu short ribs, while the desserts will feature: Lava cakes, cake balls and gelato.

"I think I love the madness. I don't want to get bored, so every year we come up with new things among some old stuff, but I think the most important thing is the excitement at the Oscars. You can feel the vibe in the city," Puck said.
