Organized by the Üsküdar Municipality in Istanbul and the Rize Associations Federation (RİDEF), the Üsküdar Regional Flavors and Culture Festival has kicked off.
Tents have been erected along the Üsküdar coast and food stalls featuring local flavors from all corners of Turkey are offering exquisite tastes to festival goers. The festival is presenting every color of Anatolian cuisine as well as culture under one roof. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Üsküdar Municipality Mayor Hilmi Türkmen said, "Istanbulites will be able to taste the flavors of Anatolia in Üsküdar. We are aware that regional flavors are not just about cuisines but it is also about financial power. It is an essential part of political, cultural and social stability."
