Beşİktaş president Fikret Orman has raised his concerns about the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) changing the foreign player ruling. "There is going to be an election in six months' time, what is going to happen if there are presidential changes," Orman said. "What happens if someone else is voted in and says this is the wrong way to take Turkish football forward and changes everything again? What is going to happen to our contracts, to our long -term strategy which we mold around the rules? I am not against the new ruling but it needs to be long term, most clubs don't give six month or one-year contracts, we make long term deals. Clubs make three-, four-, five-year contracts with players. They made their plans accordingly last season but now that has all gone out the window so what is going to happen to our contracts and transfer strategy that we set up in accordance with the previous regulations?" The current foreign player ruling states that only five non-Turkish players are permitted to play at any one time and three foreign players are allowed on the bench but it will change next season when an entire team of foreigners will be permitted to take the field. Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu believes the changes to the foreign player restrictions will benefit the Süper Lig. "Turkish players will be more willing to move abroad following the recent changes. There will be a more competitive footballing environment now in Turkey, the best players will get played, the best players will get a chance, those who work hard and develop will get their reward. The league will reward players based on their footballing attributes instead of meeting quotas. It does not matter where the player is from, this will force Turkish players to work harder." Clubs will be permitted to sign 14 foreign players this season and play 11 at any one time. Currently Süper Lig clubs can only play five foreign players at any one time.
