Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, some of the world's top football clubs, celebrated their Muslim fans' Eid al-Fitr with messages on their social media accounts on Friday.

Arsenal midfielder German Mesut Özil who is of Turkish descent, shared a tweet on his official account, which later on Arsenal also retweeted, wishing a peaceful and happy Eid to the Muslim community.

Manchester City who signed 18-year-old Turkish striker Enes Ünal last month, also wished 'a happy Eid Mubarak' to all who are celebrating on Twitter.

Wishing a 'happy, healthy Eid', Manchester United also celebrated its Muslim fans' religious holiday.

As the Premier League is due to start on August 8, the British football clubs have kicked off their preparations for the new season. Currently, Arsenal is in Singapore, Manchester City is in Australia and Manchester United is in the U.S.

Eid al-Fitr is one of the two Muslim religious holidays in Islam, and marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
