Manchester United has signed Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero to a three-year deal on a free transfer. The 28-year-old Romero previously played for United manager Louis van Gaal at Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Romero will provide competition for Spanish keeper David De Gea currently pursued by Real Madrid while Victor Valdes is set to be sold after Van Gaal said he refused to play in the reserves.
