Spor Toto Super League's second half started on Saturday. Galatasaray, which fell behind archrivals Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, returned to winning ways following a 3-1 win over Sivasspor. Selçuk İnan opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, while an in-form Sinan Gümüş doubled his sides lead 10 minutes later.

Texeira reduced Galatasaray's lead to one goal mid-way though the second half; however, Burak Yılmaz's late goal secured all three points for Mustafa Denizli's side. The Lion's remain in third place following Saturday's s victory and will be hoping for their Istanbul rivals to drop points this weekend. Galatasaray, have disappointed their fans this season. Cim Bom had won three cups in the last season, but they showed poorer performance during the first half of the season. They won only 30 points in 17 matches, stayed 11 points behind league leaders Beşiktaş and almost lost their hopes for the championship. Galatasaray won only eight of 17 matches and drew in six matches while they lost three matches.

Ahead of the second half of the season, Galatasaray signed Dutch footballer Ryan Donk from fellow Istanbul club Kasımpaşa in a 2.5 million-euro ($2.69 million) deal. The oldest teams in Super League are Sivasspor with an age average of 30 and Galatasaray with 29.4.
