It was honors even as the two undefeated teams of the Turkish Spor Toto Super League, Medipol Başakşehir and holders Beşiktaş played out a 1-1 stalemate on their Saturday night clash.
Medipol Başakşehir's youngster Cengiz Ünder had put his team up with a well-placed finish from a counter attack in the 21st minute to shock the home side.
Resisting constant attacks from Başakşehir, Beşiktaş managed to find the equalizer in the 51st minute from a corner kick as Brazilian defender Marcelo Guedes found the net with a header from the corner.
None of the sides could break the opponent's defense line for the remainder of the match.
With the draw, Başakşehir remained top of the league with 30 points and Beşiktaş stayed put at second place with 28.The league's 12th week kicked off with two matches on Friday, as Galatasaray beat Bursaspor 3-1 to break a two-game losing streak.
Already hurt by losses at the hands of Medipol Başakşehir and Fenerbahçe over the past two weeks, the Lions started the match poorly and conceded a goal just 14 minutes into the game.
However, they got the equalizer in the 32nd minute, thanks to some sharp passing by Wesley Sneijder and Lukas Podolski to find winger Yasin Öztekin who fired it home.
In the second half, the Istanbul powerhouse dominated the match, with Sneijder scoring from sublime a free-kick and striker Eren Derdiyok wrapping up the proceedings from a counter-attack.
With the mauling of the Green Crocodiles, Galatasaray increased their tally to 23 points while Bursaspor has 21 points from 12 outings. In the other match of the day, Aytemiz Alanyaspor defeated Kayserispor 3-0.
