Having posted their first ever European win on matchday two, Konyaspor will try to keep the momentum going as they host Salzburg in their UEFA Europa League Group I match today.
The sides are meeting for the first time and it will be Konyaspor's first encounter with Austrian opponents. Salzburg, who have been in good continental form, holds a W1 D1 L2 record against Turkish teams, with both defeats coming in Turkey. Konyaspor secured their first European win at the eighth attempt when they beat Vitoria SC 2-1 on matchday two. Salzburg, on the other hand, are unbeaten in seven UEFA Europa League matches (W5 D2).
The other Turkish team in the competition, Medipol Başakşehir will be hosted by Germany's Hoffenheim today. Hoffenheim will bid to break their European duck at the fifth attempt as they take on a Medipol Başakşehir side yet to win a UEFA away game. The clubs are meeting for the first time and neither have previously played a team from their opponents' home country. Turkish sides have won three of the last six matches between clubs from these nations staged in Germany.
