The Premier League's top scorer Mohamed Salah refused to celebrate his goal for Liverpool against Chelsea Saturday in an apparent tribute to over 300 victims of Friday's attack in his native Egypt.

The 25-year-old Egyptian, who scored his 15th goal in 20 matches this season, did not celebrate after the ball hit the net.

Even though, some football fans said Salah refused to celebrate because he scored against his former club, many took his reaction as a tribute to the Egyptian victims.

The match ended with a 1-1 draw after a strange 85th minute goal from Brazilian Willian, just on as a substitute, denied Liverpool a morale-boosting victory.

Salah was at Chelsea two months ago and made just six league starts before being sent on loan by then-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho to Fiorentina and then Roma, which he eventually joined on a permanent deal.

Militants attacked a crowded mosque during Friday prayers in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, settling off explosives, spraying worshippers with gunfire and killing 305 people in the deadliest ever attack on Egyptian civilians by terrorists.
