An Istanbul Court decided on Thursday to assign three trustees to Fatih University for alleged ties with the Gülenist Terror Organization / Parallel State Structure (FETÖ/PDY).
The university is accused of supporting what is called the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ), headed by U.S.-based preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is said to have infiltrated Turkey's state apparatus with thousands of followers in an effort to overthrow the government.
Earlier on Thursday, another court assigned trustees to Gevher Sultan Education, Research, Culture and Health Foundation (GESAV), the founding organization of Mevlana University in central Konya province.
FETÖ is also known as the parallel state, which designates a clandestine group of Turkish bureaucrats and senior officials, allegedly embedded in the country's institutions, including the judiciary and the police.
