A man who made the headlines for a chilling video where he threatens to kill an Afghan migrant was captured yesterday in the northwestern city of Yalova.
The man, identified only as A.A., said he was only "joking" and the migrant was a worker at his farm.
The video that made rounds on social media and TV news reports shows the migrant, identified as 20-year-old Hudaverdi Rozmuhammad, sitting in the passenger seat of A.A.'s car.
A.A. proceeds to ask the migrant "Why are you in Turkey?" and then threatens to "kill" him. He then forces Rozmuhammad to give him all his money as the undocumented migrant nearly bursts in to tears.
The video caused public outrage after it surfaced on Tuesday. An investigation is underway and A.A. may face charges of hate crime.
