A total of 43 suspects linked to PKK terrorist group were nabbed during anti-terror operations in Istanbul, a police official said Wednesday.
Anti-terrorism teams of Istanbul police launched the operation in seven different districts to arrest the suspects, said the official, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.
Many papers and digital documents related to PKK terrorist organization were also seized in the operation.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
The PKK has also been active in Syria, through its Syrian affiliates the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed-wing People's Protection Units (YPG).
