4 year-old Syrian boy crushed under tram dies in Istanbul

A four-year-old Syrian boy, Ahmet Hallo, died late on Saturday after being crushed under a tram, traveling between Kabataş and Bağcılar on the T1 line in Istanbul.
According to eyewitnesses, Ahmet Hallo lost his balance after he and his father got off the tram in Yavuz Selim Station and fell between the platform and the tram. After the tram began to move, he was dragged under it for meters.
A medical team immediately took the child to Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital, but he could not be saved despite their efforts.
Meanwhile a crime scene investigation team were searching for the child's leg, which had been amputated by the tram, at the scene. It has also been reported that the tram driver has been detained and police have launched an investigation into the catastrophic accident.
