Activists from several nongovernmental organizations staged a protest outside the Bangladeshi Consulate in Istanbul yesterday against the execution of Mohammad Kamaruzzaman, the assistant secretary-general of the Jamaat-e-Islami party, on Saturday. Unfurling a banner reading "Killer Hasina will be held accountable for [execution]," in reference to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, they sent a letter of condemnation to the Bangladeshi government.
