A Liberia-flagged oil tanker ran aground in Istanbul's Ahırkapı district on Thursday. Authorities said the crew was warned about shallow waters in the area before the accident. Six rescue boats and seven salvage tug boats were dispatched to the scene to remove the tanker while the crew was reported safe.
