The commander of the International Space Station (ISS) has shared bird's eye view images of Istanbul that went viral among Turkish social media users.
NASA astronaut Robert Shane Kimbrough posted the pictures on his official Twitter account Friday afternoon with the message "Hello Istanbul Turkey! Adding this to @Thom_astro's #airportsfromspace collection."

Many social media users greeted the message from Kimbrough, who serves as the current commander of the ISS.
The pictures feature Istanbul's European districts, including a clear view of Istanbul's Atatürk International Airport.
