Reportedly, hackers intending to take over accounts of Internet users try to break passwords beginning with the number "19," which is the first number of birthdays.
Mustafa Cantürk, the head of the Cyber Crimes Division of the Ordu Police Department, said the widespread use of the Internet is leading to an increase in the number of social media users, adding that the number of hackers has increased in parallel.
Stating that those who have accounts on Twitter and Facebook should avoid using easy passwords, Cantürk noted that fraudsters' favorite target is now social media. "While creating a new password, you should keep in mind that it features eight characters with at least one upper- and one lower-case letter. In particular, Internet users should not create passwords starting with the number 19, as hackers always try to crack passwords starting with your birthday," he continued. He indicated that passwords starting with "19" are those that can be easily broken, adding that easy passwords cause an increase in the number of victims.
