"Turkey Home," a digital campaign carried out by Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to better advertise and promote the country, was chosen as the ‘Best Branded Facebook Page' by Skift, a New-York based industry intelligence and marketing platform in travel.
According to the statement made by Ministry, it is underscored that the country's promotion and branding strategies on the digital world continue at full tilt, and social media platforms such as "Turkey Home" become more important as a part of these efforts.
Within the scope of the "Skifties 2015 Social Media Awards for Travel Brands," 25 brands have been awarded by the marketing platform by prominently taking into consideration brands' achievements on key social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The company also took into consideration the accessibility of brands on social media sites including social media platforms LinkedIn, Pinterest, Vine and Snapchat.
Along with country and city promotion brands, airlines, hotels, reservation websites, travel media and many other initiations were awarded in competition, as well as the brands that successfully use and develop promotion projects on specific social media platforms.
Turkey Home," was chosen the "Best Branded Facebook Page" as the campaign has reached 4 million subscribers on all social media platforms. Turkey Home's achievement is stated on Skift's website as: "The tourism board's most successful campaigns were composed of video content directly uploaded to Facebook and cross-pollinated share-worthy user-generated content from Instagram influencers and followers."
Also, Turkish Airlines was awarded "Most Effective Airlines on Social Media," as a part of the competition.
