Yasemin İçten, 8, an elementary school student who lives in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, stands out among the other children with her different eye and hair color. The little girl, who is the youngest of four children, has eyes whose irises are different colors. While one of her eyes is brown the other one is green, which gives her a very unique appearance. Moreover, İçten's extraordinary appearance is not limited to her different colored eyes; half of her hair is blond while the other half is brown.
Her teacher at Türktepe Elementary School, Ali Korkmaz, said İçten is the most-loved person at the school. He said he was very surprised when he first saw İçten. "Students and teachers from other classes came to see her. She is the most 'colorful' student at our school. Those who see her for the first time are shocked," he continued. School Principal Ergün Kocaakça expressed his happiness to have such a special student like İçten at their school, and said the differences help develop the children's imagination.
