Google Translate has added support for 13 new languages: Amharic, Corsican, Frisian, Kyrgyz, Hawaiian, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Luxembourgish and Scots Gaelic, Google reported.
The new additional languages add 120 million new people to the billions who can already communicate with Google Translate all over the world. Marking the International Mother Language Day on Feb. 21, Google is asking more people to get involved and participate in the Translate Community. "Every contribution helps improve the quality of translation over time," Google said in their official blog.
Started in 2006 with machine learning-based translations between English and Arabic, Chinese and Russian, Google Translate now offers 103 languages that cover 99 percent of the online population.
