Would you ever consider purchasing a flight ticket for $38,000? Etihad Airways' new route from Mumbai to New York City via Abu Dhabi has led the airline company to offer the most expensive and luxurious air service in the world. Passengers can book a one-way ticket to New York in the Residence, a private cabin with a living room, separate bedroom and an ensuite shower room, Fortune reported. The 125-square-foot suite is the only three-room suite on a commercial airline, designed for two people traveling together.
The living room has a luxurious leather double-seat sofa and two dining tables, where passengers can enjoy an intimate meal for two, or watch their 32-inch flat-screen TV using noise-cancelling headsets. A private butler along with a personalized menu and concierge service are all available for Residence passengers. A savoy-trained Etihad butler ensures a tailored experience, looking after passengers from takeoff until landing. The new offer surpasses Etihad's previous record-setting commercial flight which cost $32,000 and was the most expensive commercial flight.
