Turkish pet stylists providing quality animal care at luxury pet centers

The pet industry in Turkey is growing, with a rising number of pet owners who spend large amounts on their pets' maintenance. In turn, more pet grooming salons are appearing in big cities where professional pet stylists offer hands-on service to contribute to the maintenance of dogs and cats.

In the southern city of Antalya, the city's first pet grooming salon renders beauty services including hair grooming and nail care. Specializing in pet styling in Ukraine, İmren Kabak in Antalya says that pets now have a more human-like life. Kabak says that pets undergo a hygienic grooming process to make them feel comfortable. Catering to special needs and welcoming different breeds, pet stylists not only clean furry friends but provide quality pet care like using the best dog colognes. Pet grooming services change based on the animal's weight and size.

Kabak says not all animals share the same comfort. "There is a huge difference between street animals and well-groomed ones. It is a saddening thing. NGOs, associations and locals are trying to help them but they need more effort," Kabak said. The lucky animals are taken to luxury dog and cat grooming centers and consume healthy food rich in vitamins costing hundreds of dollars.

A report released by Euromonitor International says pet humanization is a growing trend in Turkey. "An increasing number of people are keeping pets as companions. Pet owners increasingly see their pets as part of the family, which leads them to feed them the best possible prepared food and spend money on products such as pet accessories and pet dietary supplements," the report said.
