International Antalya marathon to attract thousands

The International Runatolia Antalya Marathon will be held for the 12th time in the southern Antalya province on March 4-5. Around 8,000 professional and amateur runners from Turkey and abroad are expected to participate in the marathon.

On March 4, there will be a children's marathon that will begin at the Antalya Terracity Shopping Mall. Special travel packages are available for runners traveling to Antalya for the event. Some 4,000 people are expected to participate in the public marathon, which starts at 11 a.m. On the same day, there will also be a special running event for women with high heels that will be a highlight of the two-day event.

Last year, the marathon was comprised of three different distances, the longest of which will be 42 kilometers. The 2016 marathon included a special running section for people with physical disabilities.
