Mustafa Doğan, 24, who runs a tea shop in Tokat, has become the most popular figure in the city after hanging a sign on the window of his shop saying "A shoulder to cry on. Tea and coffee on the house."
Doğan listens to his customers' troubles and shows them compassion for only TL 5 ($1.6) and offers them free tea and coffee. Doğan has been managing his tea shop for the last seven years and claims that his customers always talk about their troubles when they stop by to have a glass of tea.
"The other shopkeepers in the area talk about their financial problems. Those who have a fight with their spouses, get mad with their children or find themselves in huge debt come here to talk about all these things with me. I charge them TL 5 and give them tea or coffee."
Customers also seem happy with the practice. They say that it is good to share their troubles with someone over a hot cup of tea or coffee.
