The Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government does not fear terror, attacks from around the world, the Gülen Movement or other circles, and there is no room for personal interests within the party, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said at an educational conference in Istanbul on Sunday. "There is no place for those who care about personal interests among us, and there never will be. Those who say he or she is akin to me should not have a place among us," he said.
Underscoring that every attack against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party over the course of the last 14 years gave them strength, Prime Minister Davutoğlu said: "None of these [attacks] can dash our faith or our new world ideal. Every attack strengthened us. Those who thought that we had stumbled in the June 7 [elections] learned their lessons on Nov. 1."
Touching on Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's recent insult of Family and Social Policies Minister Sema Ramazanoğlu, Davutoğlu said he aims to do moral politics rather than uttering insults at each other.
Davutoğlu asserted that the fate of the AK Party equals that of Turkey. "We came to be the subject of politics, not an object of it," he added.
