Seven members of the Libyan Army injured on Sunday by improvised explosive devices planted in residential areas of southern Tripoli by putschist Gen. Khalifa Haftar's militia have exploded. Attempts were underway to defuse them.
According to a written statement by the press office for the government's Operation Volcano of Rage, the injured party members included seven bomb disposal experts.
The press office also released footage of the mines and improvised explosive devices that were planted by the Haftar militia.
Meanwhile, the Libyan Army launched yet another operation on Sunday to liberate the Tripoli Airport from Haftar occupation.
The army's latest move prior to the operation was to liberate the military camps of Hamza, Yermuk and as-Savarih from the militia on May 25.
Haftar has been engaged in a campaign to seize the Libyan capital Tripoli from the official U.N.-recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) since April.
Following the ouster of late ruler Moammar Gadhafi in 2011, Libya's government was founded in 2015 under a U.N.-led political deal.
