President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday expressed his appreciation for conclusion of Hamas-Israel talks in Egypt with a cease-fire. The president said in a social media post that Türkiye contributed to talks while pledging that Türkiye would continue its fight for establishment of a sovereign State of Palestine.

In a written statement, Erdoğan remarked his gratitude to U.S President Donald Trump for showing the necessary will to encourage Israel to the accept the cease-fire and thanked Qatar and Egypt for their significant support in facilitating the agreement.

Erdoğan also emphasized that Türkiye will closely monitor the full implementation of the agreement and proceed to contribute to the process to maintain lasting stability in the region.

''Likewise, we will continue our struggle until an independent and sovereign State of Palestine with territorial integrity, based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, is established.'' he noted.

The president also extended his heartfelt greetings to the Palestinian people, praising their “dignified resistance” despite years of suffering under severe humanitarian conditions.

''On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt greetings to my Palestinian brothers and sisters who, for the past two years, have endured unspeakable pain and have fought for life and dignity under inhumane conditions; who have lost their children, mothers, fathers, relatives, and friends; yet, despite all the tragedies they have suffered, have never abandoned their honorable stance.'' he said.

Most recently, Trump declared that the United States would do everything possible to make sure everyone adheres to the deal if Hamas and Israel agreed on a cease-fire to end the war, unveiling the 20-point plan. The plan includes the release of Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners, a cease-fire, Hamas disarmament, and Gaza reconstruction.
